Anita Breyholtz

Vet

Hi, my name is Anita. I am from Norway (hence my noticeable accent!), but I have called New Zealand home for the last 13 years, since I moved here in 2005.

I graduated with a DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) From St. Istvan University in Budapest in 2003. Last year (2017) I completed a Master in Veterinary Medicine (Companion Animals) with distinction, through Massey University. My Master consisted of courses in ophthalmology, neurology, dermatology, clinical pathology, emergency medicine and diagnostic imaging, as well as an ultrasonography practicum ( as my dissertation). I am passionate about my job and feel fortunate to work in the field I do. Anita is also Low Stress Handling® Silver Certified.

Outside of work I am (also) a busy mum. I like to spend my spare time with family and friends, read a good book, or take my four-legged best friend Bill (Bearded Collie Cross; 11 years old) for a walk. Spending time outdoors in general feels great. Although no big artist, I also enjoy time spent with a paintbrush or pencil in my hand – I find painting and drawing very relaxing and fun.

Apart from Bill, the dog, our little family also consists of Pickles the cat (Domestic Short Hair, 7 years old). The two make a great team (… the cat of course being the boss!).
